Questions, Answered
Everything you’re wondering before you book.
Straight answers: no medical jargon, no runaround.
No, most states, including NV, allow direct access to physical therapy, so you can start without a doctor’s referral. If your insurance requires paperwork from a physician, we’ll handle tracking it down so it doesn’t hold up your care.
We verify your benefits before your first visit, so you’ll know your exact copay before you ever walk in: no surprise bills later. If you’re without insurance or prefer to skip it, we also offer self-pay rates.
Wear something comfortable you can actually move in. Shorts are best if we’re treating a knee or hip, and a tank top or loose tee helps if we’re working on a shoulder or neck.
Your first visit, the evaluation, runs about 60 minutes. Afterward you’ll leave with a phase-based plan with an endpoint, not a guess, and not an open-ended string of visits. Most patients feel meaningful change within 4–6 visits.
It’s brief and localized: most people feel a quick twitch, then a wave of relief in that muscle. And it’s always optional; we’ll never spring it on you without explaining it first.
No. Every visit is one-on-one, hands-on care with your physical therapist, never a tech handing you a printout. Your exercises are dosed specifically for you and progressed live as you improve.
That’s a fair question, and it’s usually the model, not you. A lot of clinics rotate you through techs and hand you generic sheets. Here, you get one-on-one time with your physical therapist every single visit, a cause-first evaluation instead of a cookie-cutter protocol, and a phase-based plan with clear graduation criteria, so you always know why you’re doing what you’re doing, and when you’re done.
The questions below come up on nearly every first call. If yours is not here, call the clinic that is closer to you and ask. A therapist will answer, not a script.
Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist in Nevada?
No. All fifty states have some form of direct access, and Nevada is one of them, so you can book with us directly. If you are not making meaningful progress within about 30 days, we will refer you back to your physician. Seeing a therapist first often saves hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Can my therapist diagnose me?
In most states physical therapists do not make the medical diagnosis; your physician does that. What we do is find the movement and tissue cause behind your symptoms, which is usually the part that determines whether you get better.
How does billing work?
It works like your doctor's office. Your therapist documents the visit and charges by CPT code, those codes go to your insurer, and your insurer pays according to your plan. We verify your benefits before your first visit so the number you hear from us is the number you actually pay.
Can I go to any physical therapy clinic?
In almost all cases you have the right to choose. We are a provider for many plans. Call us and we will check yours for you.
What should I wear or bring?
Comfortable, loose clothing you can move in. Bring any paperwork related to the problem: x-rays, MRI or ultrasound reports, and your doctor's notes. If you have a brace or special shoes, bring those too.
Will I get exercises to do at home?
Yes, and they are part of the treatment, not homework for its own sake. Your therapist will give you specific movements to do between visits, which is what makes the change stick. Check with your therapist before adding anything new on your own.
How long will this take?
You get an honest estimate at your evaluation, because a plan with an endpoint is the point. It depends on how long the problem has been there, what tissue is involved, and what you want to get back to.
