Pain
Calm the pain down.
Hands-on techniques calm the irritated nerve and take the edge off inflammation, starting your very first visit.
What We Treat
Pain that has outlasted every scan, every pill and every opinion. That does not mean nothing can be done.

Why It Happens
Pain that’s stuck around for months doesn’t mean nothing’s wrong, it means the picture is more complex than a single injury. It’s usually some mix of a few things: a nervous system that’s become more sensitive after months of unaddressed pain. Muscles that have weakened and deconditioned from moving less. Movement patterns you’ve built to avoid pain that now cause problems of their own. And poor sleep and stress, which tend to turn the pain signal up rather than down.
None of that shows up on a quick glance. It takes a real, cause-first evaluation to sort out which one is actually driving your pain. That’s why rest, ice, or a generic stretching sheet so often falls short: they treat the symptom, not the source. Find the real cause, and the fix gets obvious.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what the four phases look like for a body.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Hands-on techniques calm the irritated nerve and take the edge off inflammation, starting your very first visit.
Weeks 2–6
Prime
Targeted mobility work restores motion in the stiff segments that have been quietly guarding the injury.
Weeks 6–10
Perform
Progressive core and hip strengthening builds the stability your spine was missing in the first place.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
Lifting, bending, and twisting mechanics get tested under real load before you’re cleared to go all-in: that’s the endpoint, not just another appointment.
The entire team at Achieve Physical Therapy has been phenomenal. From the front desk and office staff to the physical therapists and assistants, everyone has been genuinely kind, supportive, and professional.
I came to Achieve with a frozen shoulder and 15 years of chronic back pain. Over time, I had started to believe that my limitations were simply my new normal. Thanks to the care and expertise of this team, I’m improving and feeling hopeful again. For the first time in a long time, I can see a future where I’m active, strong, and able to enjoy life without being held back by pain.
I also want to mention the red light therapy bed. Having access to it has been an incredible addition to my treatment and recovery.
I’m deeply grateful for the care I’ve received at Achieve Physical Therapy. If you’re looking for a team that truly cares about your progress and well-being, I highly recommend them.

Questions, Answered
Usually not, and it’s rarely the first step. Most chronic pain improves without imaging, and studies consistently find disc bulges and “wear and tear” on MRIs of people who have zero pain at all, so a scan doesn’t always point to the real cause. We start with a hands-on evaluation to find what’s actually driving your symptoms, and if imaging ever becomes genuinely necessary, we’ll help you get it. You don’t have to wait on a scan to start feeling better.
Yes, in most cases movement helps more than rest does. With chronic pain especially, total rest tends to deepen the sensitivity and weaken the body further, which sets up more pain, not less. The key is dosing the right movement for your specific case, which is exactly what your physical therapist sorts out at your evaluation, then progresses safely as you improve.
Most patients feel meaningful change within 4–6 visits. A full plan for chronic pain runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, typically over 8–10 weeks, depending on how long you’ve been dealing with it. Either way, you get a plan with an endpoint: you’ll always know which phase you’re in and what’s left, not an open-ended string of appointments.
